For the past 20 years, I’ve been designing a piano program that offers lessons twice a week; one private lesson and one group class. I’ve found this to the best possible scenario for success! It combines the methodologies of Dalcroze Eurhythmics, Kodaly Musicianship, and Suzuki Instrumental training.
One-on-one private teaching includes one 30, 40, or 60 minute lesson weekly; focusing on the art of practicing, polished performance, and fundamentals of piano technique.
Group Class offers a fun and engaging social community where students process what they have learned, perform ensemble music together, and assimilate new concepts in ear training and music theory. Group Class is truly where the magic happens! (It’s like having 5 mini-hyperspeed lessons at once.)
Parents are considered equal partners in this process, since they will be acting as practice partners at home. Parents of students 12 and younger are expected to attend all lessons; private and group.
Prior to beginning instruction, new parents and students are required to observe one private lesson and group class and may have a trial lesson. Lesson times and group class enrollment is based upon availability.
